I am known to be random and I am completely fine with it especially when I style myself. Random as in I don’t wear a typical black dress or aim to wear pale colours. When I got the chance to get wear new designers Rie & Mil at a photoshoot in Scotland, I took the opportunity to style it with colourful pieces . Rie & Mil pieces are versatile and completely something I do believe every girl needs in their wardrobe. Yeah… Why ? Well its easy ……….

Paul Keenan.. A Man To Know
Profile:
South Bridges New Stop, The Whistle Stop Barber Shop!
Edinburgh has a new place to chillout and eat on South Bridge , all with the right mix of food, music and a clean shave at The Whistle Stop Barber Shop. Just before I headed off back to sunny Dubai, I had to pop over to see it all the hard work come together. Its definitely a twist on South Bridge as the place is modern, retro with lots of wee unique pieces.
Darren Ruddy Sets A New Tune
Now and Then I explore to find new designers but this time I had to come back to one of my favourite designers, Darren Ruddy. I met him at University and always loved his work, his beautifully designed silhouettes and attention to detail. Darren presented his work at Designer Talent 2014 and this dresses were on everyones eye, this season he changed it up from colours to the inspiration…. and I am lovinnnnnnnng it ! I usually don’t fit into most designer clothing because I am not a sample size but got so happy when I found out his designs are for size 10… Boooooom I am modeling a few pieces this time. This time I did the shoot at No.8 Lister Square in Edinburgh.
Dresses, Make-up and Inspiration with Caroyln Baxter
I fell in love with Carolyn’s work every since I started my little internship of 2 beautiful years with Lynn McCrossan. Lynn used to bring Carolyn’s dresses to do photoshoots and it was love at first sight.
Carolyn Baxter is truly a lady that describes independence to me from past, present and future. She told us about how she first started from her Youtube Channel which is a sensation all over the world. As she kept progressing she developed new ways of creating her dream. I took down notes in developing my own online boutique, which is an idea for the future of FAZ’s crazy world.
Everyone who reads FAZFashionDiary knows my obsession with accessories especially jewellery. There were too many to pick from but I have to say I love my yellow dazzler!

Interview
1) How did the love for make-up first start?
My inspiration, love for make-up and fashion started from a young age going through magazines and watching how make-up really did make women feel. Having being passionate about make-up and doing make overs with my close friends, it was actually my best friends who said ‘you have a talent’ . So I did with the help, support and love from my best friends and the family I took a risk with my savings to do an intense course with the Lubna Rafiq Bridal Course in London.
2) When did you start doing wedding Make-up for brides?
I started doing professional bridal make-up as soon as I came back. I made myself a business plan and marketing tactics from using my experience from being around my family, whose work made them successful.
3) Why did you choose to do wedding make-up?
Choosing to do bridal make-up was not deliberate! In the beginning I had no idea what type of make-up I wanted to train in. The LRA course had given me an insight of what I realized later is what I am meant to do. Being a bridal make-up is truly rewarding job, in which not only does the bride, mother of the bride, family and husband are all thankful for making their bridge look and feel beautiful. It is the biggest day in their life and I have the honour to be part of it is a moment I cherish forever. I thank all my brides and the lovely clients for this.
4) What inspires you when doing make-up?
From London Fashion Week, Indian Fashion Week to Pakistan Fashion week straight off the catwalk make-up/ hair and even the designers all inspire and contribute to the way I design as an artist. Fashion and make-up will always change so as an artist it’s important to stand out be different but at the same time to always move with the time.
5) Where do you hope your career is in 5 years from now?
Who know’s where I’ll be in 5 years time with my career. All I know is with the love and respect from my clients, I can only strive to do better and grow to becoming a better service for them all. I never thought I’d be here after nearly 3 years, even winning best new MUA by STMAC 2012. I am off to London soon to work with Pro Hair and beauty magazine.
I love this girl to bits, she is talents, inspirational and full of motivation. Saleema is definitely a young lady to watch for the world of bridal make-up.
Aimee Paget … New Talent
Name: Aimee Paget
Age:21
Nationality: British
College/ University : BA Fashion Design at Heriot Watt University
Interview:
What is fashion to you ?
Fashion is something that is in demand, and is constantly changing.
What made you want to be a fashion designer, as it is a lot of work?
I chose to study fashion as I’m a creative person, designing always came naturally to me and I wanted to do something I enjoyed. It was quite an easy decision.
What inspires you to do your designs?
I’m inspired by other designers such as Henry Holland, Manish Arora and Ashish and some of my other favourites. However, you need to look beyond just designers or you could end up with too similar designs. I usually do a lot of doodling and ideas can come from just doing that.
Can you please tell what the inspiration behind your graduate collection ?
My graduate collection is about having fun and not taking things to seriously. As the name suggests ‘Never Monday’ it’s about celebrating each day and living life to the fullest. I looked at a alot of hand crafted techniques and DIY methods as influences.
Tell me what makes your collection unique ( Technique, style, trend, inspiration etc.)
I’d say my collection is unique because I didn’t worry about trends too much or the reasoning behind it. I just let my collection develop naturally and made decisions as I went. I initially tried to stick rigidly to my theme and I ended up very unhappy with my line-up, then when I started doing what I liked the collection began to come together. I also tried to mix my fabrics, using both wool and PVC which I think contrast nicely together.
Where do you hope to be doing in 5 years time?
I hope that I’m still doing something related to fashion! Ideally working in a design team for someone I adore or possibly working on my own label.
As soon as I saw Aimee’s collection through pictures, I fell in love with it! It is fun, colourful and wearable 🙂
Joanne McGillivray… New Talent Update!
The collection was trendy and wearable with a wonderful pattern that was used in many different styles. It has a sophisticated but yet a fun and girly feel for new season. Joanne brought together a collection that any women can wear it and blended colours that stand out with the pattern she designed.

To me, fashion is a way of expressing your personality and individuality

Just in the line of work I’ve always been interested in and it helps when you have a sister who is a top stylist and sees you potential.
3) Do you think with your height it stops you from modeling in certain shows ?
Yes and no. Certain clients do tend to go for models past the 6ft mark, but being 5’10” means that the clients thinks your looks is too good to be left out.

It is true what they say, maintain a healthy diet and good working program is religious. Will power and determination combine to give you excellent results.

In five year times, I hope to still be modelling but have a keen ambition to join the police.
